We loved our stay at the Treehouse. Our only complaint is that our stay wasn't long enough. It was nice to be able to bring our dog along and there were even dog treats left by the owner. Our kids were so happy to see some of their favorite snacks left by Amy. If your looking for a relaxing getaway, Look no further than the Treehouse. We can't wait to visit again!

Owner response: Hi Michele and thanks for your review! I am all about customer service and will gladly help with that "complaint" LOL Call me next year and we'll see about booking you a longer stay at the TreeHouse 🙂 I'm pleased to know your family enjoyed the cabin and had a super time. Please come again anytime!

The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. It is located close enough to town to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed it!

Manager response: Hi Richard! I'm happy that you enjoyed the cabin and the location. It is really nice and close to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Definitely saves time in the car! BTW, thank you for the bear photos that you emailed during your stay. We don't see too many our way but this fall that Mama Bear and her three cubs have been making the rounds and these were the first photos I have seen of them. They were great! Please come again anytime, Richard.

My husband, son, and I stayed here for a long weekend trip. What a cute, clean cabin with great privacy and scenery! There really isn't anything I can think of to complain about. The ramp and one-level floor plan is a huge plus, the kitchen is well equipped, and I loved the décor. We fished at the pond a few times and caught a few bass and several bluegill. We were hoping to catch the white catfish I read about in other reviews...maybe next time. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you, Amy!

Owner response: Hi Kelly! Yes, you'll just have to come back and try your angling skills for the white catfish LOL It sounds like you did pretty good with the bass and bluegill, though. Thank you for the compliments and please come again someday.

My husband and I just returned from a weekend in Pigeon Forge with our three girls. The cabin was even better than we expected. It is in a perfect location, away from everything but a quick drive for dinner and activities. The cabin itself was beautiful, very cozy, and so clean! The view was breathtaking, and we even had visitors from several bear cubs (my girls loved seeing them!). The kitchen was well stocked and bedrooms were very comfortable. We will definately be back!

Manager response: Thank you for the review! It's always nice to hear that our guests really had a great stay. Those cubs and their mama have been visiting our area for several weeks now and they've been the talk of the street. I'm sure they were a highlight of the trip for your girls! Hope you can come back again someday. Thank you for being our guests.

We've been vacationing in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for 6 years now. This is the worst experience we've had in regards to housing. When we arrived, we noticed large ants in the basement. I contacted management, and she stated it was a known problem. I feel I should've been told prior to coming in about the issue. I would've chosen to stay elsewhere. She offered to call an exterminator; however, my young children and dog were there and I was concerned about the safety of the treatment to them so I declined. Later in the week, we saw ants on the ceiling, bathroom, upstairs bathroom--they were everywhere. Also, the upstairs bathroom had a strong urine odor. We tried Scentsy spray and Lysol but the odor was overpowering. The toilet seat attachment/screws were soiled with urine which is probably the source of the odor and should be replaced. The cabin itself had a musty smell. In the basement, the area around the theater seating was filthy with dropped food...we had to try to keep our dog away as she was trying to clean it up. On a positive note, we were able to bring our dog. My children enjoyed the video arcade game and theater seating. This is not a cabin I would return to in the future.

Manager response: KyPa, I'm genuinely disappointed we could not serve you better during your three nights at the cabin. Our housekeeping and maintenance crews would have gladly stopped by to address any concerns but all you informed me about were the ants--some dead, some alive--in the lower level bedroom. Guests staying the last few weeks have not mentioned any issues with housekeeping or ants being found anywhere beyond the lower bedroom window and Jacuzzi (where the pest control technician has been treating regularly under the cabin to destroy the nest). I totally respect your review, but would have appreciated if you shared these items during your stay so our team could make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Double D - Review for Water's Edge on 10/10/2015

My girlfriend took me here for my 43rd Bday both of ours first time to the area. Absolutely gorgeous! Far enough away from the parkway but close enough. Everything was Very clean and in proper working order. I didnt have much opportunity to fish as I am an advid fisherman but I did have luck in my half an hour and saw others catch lots of fish. The cabin is a nice home away from home and Amyhas done a super job with the simple touches of the spices for cooking, treats for dogs and matching dishes. I stay at many cabins and this one is tops because of the extras! In proximity to the "Parkway" and Gatlinburg it is perfect! Amy she would love to know where you get the "candles" that turn on when it gets dark and off when its light! Thank you!

Owner response: Double D, thanks for the great review! You'll just have to come back again sometime a do some fishing at the pond. As you noted, the fish are very active and usually guests have reasonable luck catching a few. I appreciate the compliments on the set-up of the cabin. We just try to make it as home-like and comfortable as possible. And yes, the candles are from a couple of sources: Costco and QVC. The batteries last between 2-3 months of use. Thank you for being our guests. Hope you'll be back to Water's Edge again someday!

The Alpine Rose cabin is a wonderful getaway for a couple. Our favorite part was sitting on the front porch enjoying the view of the mountains. The inside of the cabin was very neat and clean and nicely decorated giving a warm and cozy feel. Slept very well on the king size tempurpedic mattress after a long day in the refreshing mountain air. Would definitely come back to this cabin for a visit!

Manager response: Thank you, Patricia, for the review! I agree that the beautiful view from the rockers on the front porch is not to be missed--it's really relaxing and peaceful from that perch. Thanks, too, for the compliment on the bed. I'm not sure what brand it is, but the memory foam topper makes it quite cushy and comfortable. Glad you liked it! Please come again anytime.

5/55/55/55/55/5

My family enjoyed a 3 night stay in the Treehouse cabin this week. The cabin was easy to find nestled on a quiet, private, wooded hill not too far from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The Treehouse is well-furnished and decorated, beds very comfortable, kitchen fully stocked with necessary appliances, dinnerware, etc. Amy even provided some complimentary snacks for her guests and dog biscuits for pets. Every amenity you could possibly need was provided (for example: dish soap, laundry soap, plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, hairdryer, fast WiFi, hot tub, TV's, DVD players, board games, washer and dryer). Unusual for October, we were allowed an hour earlier check-in to the cabin and got the opportunity to meet Amy and her son at the property. Both were very welcoming. We would highly recommend the Treehouse for your Great Smokey Mountain get-away!

Owner response: Sue, thank you for the wonderful review. It was nice to meet you and your family at check-in, though David and I were hoping to have everything finished and scoot out before your arrival. Oh well, you caught the cabin "elves" restocking and primping the cabin LOL I genuinely appreciate your review since you and your husband are former cabin owners and know the challenges involved (especially in peak times like October!) I love meeting our guests and your family was no exception. Thank you again for your patronage and I hope you can make a repeat visit to the TreeHouse someday.

Nicely remote cabin, 2 others are nearby but not visible. Well equipped. We didn't try out the hot-tub or Jacuzzi, too busy going out, Dollywood and walks in the mountains. Abrams falls was good. One evening we met a family of bears on the road a few hundred feet from the cabin - keep bins locked!

Manager response: Thank you, Nick for the review! Yes, the park system says this fall the Bears are very active. We rarely see them at Alpine Belle but this year a mama bear and her three Cubs are apparently regular visitors to the neighborhood. We definitely recommend keeping any food or trash tucked away. Glad you had a busy and fun visit. Please come again!

Loved this cabin. Close to shopping, hiking and restaurants. Up a private gated road with lots of space between neighbors. Cabin was clean and fun. The pool table, cinema, old time gaming machine and hot tub were perfect on the rainy days.

Manager response: Dorene, thanks for your review of Mountain Laurel. We had so much rain last week but I'm pleased all the "toys" in the cabin came in handy. Those vintage video games are really fun, I agree. Reminds me of playing the arcade games at the Pizza Hut as a teen. Dating myself but oh well, it's the truth ;). Please come again anytime!

Stacey D. - Review for Water's Edge on 10/05/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

I travel a lot and let me start by saying Waters Edge cabin has more amenities than most 5 star hotels! A fully stocked kitchen, more spices than I have at home, hair dryer, shampoo etc. There were even fishing poles and tackle boxes! They even provided dog treats along with people treats!! How many cabins have you stayed in that do that? Me? NONE! And the owner, Amy is amazing! So kind and thoughtful. She went above and beyond in so many ways. My husband and I didn't get to fish because it rained the whole time we were there. But the pond is gorgeous. The cabin is spotless! I mean SUPER clean! The bed is comfortable as is the sofa sleeper. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place or the owner. It's in a great location. No scary roads leading to this cabin. And it's so quiet and peaceful. You're close to the action of the strip but you'd never know it! We plan on making this cabin our home away from home!! Stacey, Danny and Marley ðŸÂ¾

Owner response: Thank you, Stacey! I'm so pleased you enjoyed Water's Edge. I don't know if we can compete with 5 star hotels, but at least we have them beat on spices and pet treats LOL It's always nice to hear from guests how much they appreciate the extra touches. It's just the way we like to do things. Please come again anytime!

5/55/55/55/55/5

Wonderful cabin that provided the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Smokey Mountains. It was a wonderful spot to come back to after touring the local area since it was so peaceful and felt like it was miles from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg although really only about 10 minutes away. Despite the "rules" displayed about no cooking and to get take out, we really enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen to make some meals - it was better outfitted than my kitchen at home! We would recommend this cabin to couples looking for a cosy, clean and comfortable oasis where they can enjoy the view right out the front window.

Manager response: Hi Brenda, thanks for your review. There's no better compliment than one where the guest says they would recommend our cabin to others. We truly appreciate any "positive press" you can share with friends and family! Yes, the sign in the kitchen about not cooking is an inside joke from the owners. When they are there to work on the cabin, there definitely isn't any cooking going on in that beautiful kitchen LOL. Now for guests, it's always there for you to enjoy a nice relaxing meal at home. I hope you'll come again someday and make some more dinners-with-a-view!

This was a cute cabin with lots of great features. Everything was neat and the decor was very nice. Our boys played pool and video games and enjoyed the movie theatre. The master bed was so very comfortable. We very much appreciate this becoming a dog friendly place. Our pup enjoyed walks around the area very much. We were not impressed with Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The touristy, fair-like feelings were over the top for us. This had nothing to do with the cabin, so if this is the place for you, you will love this cabin! 🙂

Manager response: Thank you for your review! I'm happy Mountain Laurel was a hit with your family and the boys enjoyed the games. It sounds like it was a good fit for your dog, too. Not all cabins have streets that are easy to walk, and Mountain Laurel's location is nicely suited for taking pets out for exercise. I do appreciate your comments on the tourist-y nature of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I've never been to Dollywood, theatre shows or any Ripley's attractions myself. We are avid lovers of the National Park, so when time permits we take hikes, go tubing or pack picnics. There are 522,000 acres of the GSMNP and it's free to enjoy year-round so for those who prefer a more "natural" vacation, the gateway to the Smokies is right here! If you make a return visit to the area, we'd love to have you back at Mountain Laurel again.

Sissy's mom & dad - Review for TreeHouse Hideaway on 10/02/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

This was year 4 for us staying with the Greener family. We have stayed at the Treehouse 3 years and at Waters Edge 1. Both cabins are great just depends on how much room you need and how close to town you want to be. We love the Treehouse, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, the upstairs tub wow! The beds are comfortable as if we were at home. Pet friendly our little Yorkie loves the cabin. But you will never know that a pet was there because it is as clean as a pin. You will love dealing with Amy she is wonderful. The porches are great for that morning cup of coffee before heading out for the day or spending a lazy day at the cabin. My husband especially enjoys the hot tub on the porch. There is nothing to say except I cannot wait until next year.

Owner response: LOL Sissy, all I can say is you have it really good. Your "mom and dad" treat you to the best vacations a dog could have! I'm glad you all enjoy the TreeHouse so much that every year, your mom calls to reserve the cabin like clockwork. We love our returning guests. Hope you'll be back in 2016. I'll have the doggie treats waiting for you, Sissy!

My husband and I stayed with our almost 4 year old and 15 month old boys. It was great to not have to need to pack our high chair, baby gate, or Pack N Play (we just brought along the PNP mattress that he usually sleeps on and it fit perfectly.) The decks were safe for small kids to explore without fear of them falling off. There were lots of kid-friendly games including Shoots and Ladders and a stuffed raccoon that my little guy loved. It was easy to darken the Bunk Bed room (which my 4 year old loved!) with a black-out shade tucked into the door for nap time (no other windows in that room). The cabin had nightlights, arrival snacks (so we didn't have to go to Kroger right away and subject the kids to another car ride), and really everything we needed for a great stay! My husband and older son loved the video games (easy enough for my son to play Star Wars and Godzilla!), I loved the beautiful private view of the mountains with not a cabin in sight that direction, and the hot tub. I brought along our hammock/stand to read on the awesome wrap-around decks (the hammock wasn't really needed since they have comfy zero-gravity chairs). They even provided sheets for the couches/chairs so our dog Bandit could sit with us if she wanted to. I chose this cabin b/c I thought I'd try checking all the boxes to see what there was (hottub, pet friendly, mountain views, A/C, internet, washer/dryer, etc.) and found this gem! I would definitely stay here again. Great location very close to everything yet away from everything too! Very close to the zip line place. Would have loved to have gone if it weren't for the kiddos but we had a great time at Rocky Mountain Alpine Coaster and the small fair-type rides on the main drag of Pigeon Forge. The go-karts were a blast for my husband and son. We didn't see any bears when we were there but a neighbor said a mama and her three cubs had been walking down the street earlier that week. Maybe next time! We moved to Atlanta-area from Boston about a year ago and loved our first real Southern vacation. =) Might not be the best cabin for families with older kids or vacationing with friends unless you pack your own privacy blinds or wrap some blankets over the shades (there are lots of extra blankets in the closets). The glass doors in the two king bedrooms downstairs are covered and the shades are very cute but not super private if somebody walks by on the deck (all three bedrooms are downstairs).

Owner response: Thank you Amber for such a detailed review. I think you covered everything! Lots of good information for travelers who might want to consider GrandView for their next trip to Gatlinburg. I always say that our guests can describe our cabins better than we can! When you stay there for several days, you get a much better feel for a vacation rental. Pictures are one thing, but being there is another. I'm glad you enjoyed the view and all the amenities. Please come again anytime; we'd love to have you back!

Lisa P. - Review for Nature's Nest on 09/29/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

The cabin is in wonderful condition. Very cozy and inviting. Beds are very comfortable and the upstairs/downstairs split bedroom setup was perfect for the 4 of us. If needed you could fit more than 2 comfortably in the downstairs bedroom with the couch. As mentioned in the description it is a very open floor plan. The upstairs bedroom is a loft so if you expect a lot of privacy be aware you can be heard when people are on the main floor in the kitchen and family room. For the upstairs loft one suggestion is to adjust the hot water setting up a little - we couldn't fill up the jacuzzi tub without running out of hot water. Bathrooms are in the bedrooms and not on the main floor so be prepared to walk the stairs when you need to use them. The outside hot tub is very nice and clean. It is in full view of the cabin across the street so some moveable privacy screens would be a nice touch to give a little more sense of being alone. The main floor TV seemed to indicate it was a SMART TV but we couldn't get it to work (might have been user error) so if you want Amazon or Netflix you might want to bring your own laptop/HDMI cable. Wi-Fi was easy to connect and had a good signal. Overall we had a wonderful time and we would highly recommend this cabin to anyone going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Manager response: Thank you for the detailed review, Lisa! We always appreciate helpful feedback and we'll look into the hot water setting and see how we can improve that for the Jacuzzi tub. Or when it's time to replace the hot water heater, a larger tank may be a wise move. Thanks for letting us know of your experience. And yes, the owners have discussed putting in some sort of privacy trellis, screen or blinds to offer additional privacy for the hot tub. There's only one cabin within view of the hot tub (across the street and facing mostly the other direction) but a little added privacy certainly wouldn't hurt. I'm glad you enjoyed Nature's Nest. Please come again someday!

Manager response: Lisa, thank you for your review and excellent suggestions. I know Sherry and Tony, the owners, appreciate good feedback and knowing about the jacuzzi hot water is particularly helpful. We've discussed designing some sort of privacy trellis or screen for the hot tub and I wouldn't be surprised this is on their list of things-to-do in the off-season. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay and we welcome you to come back anytime!

James W. - Review for Alpine Rose on 09/28/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

The Alpine cabin has the most beautiful view of the mountains you would ever want!! The area was so quite you could hear a pin drop. The cabin was clean and excellently furnished. and decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped including a dishwasher. My wife and I had a great 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. If you are lucky you might even see black bears as we did. Four walking up our driveway and checking to see if any thing was left around the charcoal grill. If we ever come back to this area again, I will check to see if the Alpine Rose is available.

Manager response: Thank you for the lovely review, James. Very few of our guests (myself included) get to see bears at the cabin. But being fall, they are coming out from the park and looking for food to get ready for winter hibernation. I'm glad you got to enjoy them from the comfort of the cabin! So nice to know you had a great time and the cabin was a great home base for your vacation here. Please come again!

Happy 46th Anniversary to us! This was our first VRBO experience and it couldn't have been better, unless it was longer or after the leaves had turned (that must be breathtaking). The cabin was truly charming. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their little piece of heaven and Amy, the property manager, was extremely personable and helpful. The cabin is spotless, well equipped, decorated with love, away from the maddening crowd, yet easily accessible to attractions, and the view from "the top" was beautiful. Although we retired to a coastal community, we were raised in the mountains of PA and the cabin had a a real nostalgic feel for us, especially when driving up and down the mountain. We loved it! Traveler's don't miss this mountain retreat treasure. And while you're there, be sure to visit the National Park, the Tiitanic Museum, and for a sweet treat Gigi's cupcakes.

Manager response: Congratulations on your 46th wedding anniversary and thank you for choosing Hillside Haven for your trip to celebrate. Thank you for the boatload of compliments and I know Dee and Bob will appreciate that you noticed their attention to detail and guest experience! I'm happy to hear that the mountains felt like home to you--please come again when the mountains call again!

Deborah S. - Review for Swaying Pines on 09/26/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

This is our second time staying in Swaying Pines and it was even better than the first time - and it was great then! We absolutely love the location - having stayed in many cabins and a variety of locations through the years, I can say this is the best of the best. It is right between the two towns - can be to either one in about five minutes. It's set far enough off the main road to be quiet and private, but close enough to be convenient to everything. I can't say enough about Swaying Pines. We try and take an anniversary trip every year to Gatlinburg/PF and our accommodations are a very important part of our trip. We want quiet, clean, convenient, well-equipped, comfortable and a yard for our Chihuahua - a pretty tall order but Swaying Pines meets every qualification. It has everything to make a vacation memorable - hot tub, large yard, comfortable chairs on the deck, fully-equipped kitchen, clean, horseshoes, videos/games, convenience, a lake nearby, etc., etc. We loved just sitting on the deck watching the squirrels scamper around the yard and going to the lake and watching the ducks. Amy thinks of everything - there's even treats for the doggies and a container of snacks for us - pop tarts, granola bars, popcorn, etc. That came in very handy as we were able to sit down and rest when we arrived and have a snack before heading out to stock up on groceries. Like I said, this one has it all. We will definitely be contacting Amy when we plan our next Gatlinburg/PF getaway. In fact, I'm ready to come back now - enjoyed it that much!! You can't go wrong renting this one.

Owner response: Thank you, Deborah! That's so nice to hear that your second stay at Swaying Pines was even better than the first. Great to know we're headed in the right direction with our improvements LOL I'm happy that you enjoyed the snacks, too. Hope to hear from you again for a third visit to the cabin!

My fiance', my daughter, our dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy cabin. It was exactly as described and more. It's a true home away from home. If you plan on cooking on your vacation, everything is included in this cabin except for the food. That was awesome to discover. We had a great time and plan to go back someday.

Crystal T. - Review for TreeHouse Hideaway on 09/23/2015
5/55/55/55/55/5

The treehouse has such a perfect location! It was quiet and peaceful our entire weeks stay at the cabin and we were staying during the Rod Run! The cabin was very clean inside. And lots of extra items were provided like plenty of pots and pans and kitchen appliances. I did bring my own waffle maker. We recommend checking out Ziplining and/or Horseback riding at Next to Heaven. It was a blast for the whole family, including a 3 year old, and the guides were so much fun. There were so many things to do within a short drive of the cabin. We even stopped by the flea market. The only regret we had about the cabin was that we couldn't stay longer.

Owner response: Hey Crystal, thank you for the sweet review. I'm glad you enjoyed some peace and quiet even with the Rod Run being in town all week. That's one big event! Thank you for mentioning that the house was clean and well-stocked. We try to make it a turnkey "home away from home." I'm happy it worked nicely for your vacation and you got to do all sorts of fun things. Please come again!

This cabin is in the middle of everything . Whichever way you go everything is a short distance and easy to get to and yet you still feel like you are way out in the mountains . This is a wonderful place to set back and take it easy and let the stress of life leave you . This cabin is very clean and I'm OCD on cleanliness . The Alpine Coaster on Wears Valley Rd. was great and Wahoo zip lines was awesome . We had a wonderful stay !!! Thank you so much Amy , you were great . P.S. our 4-legged kids Bosco and Maggie loved it .

Manager response: David, I'll be sure to share this with our housekeeping team. If you're OCD on cleanliness and found MountainView Haven to be spot-on clean, you will make their day. It sounds like Bosco and Maggie had a great vacation, too. Yes, the Alpine Coaster is a winner--everyone seems to really have a great ride on that coaster and I have it on my bucket list for the off-season LOL Thank you for the kind compliments. Please come back anytime for more R&R!

Amy and her cabin were amazing from beginning to end! Our family has been using vacation rental properties for over 20 years and this far exceeds all of them! Not only the property but our contact with Amy has been outstanding in every way..you will not be disappointed . Views? Simply magical! The cabin was stocked with wonderful cooking utensils; soft cozy bedding; Cable TV; Internet; hot tub; games for children etc. etc. right down to treats for the dog! Perfect location to enjoy the local sights and afterwards drive back up the mountain to totally relax...it really doesn't get any better than this...thanks for sharing, Amy!

Owner response: Deland's, I am so humbled by your review. Thank you so much for the kind words. That is an impressive compliment after 20 years of your experiences with vacation rentals. It was a pleasure to meet both of you and I hope you'll be our guests again!
